Pebbling

I really love when something shows up on my radar from nowhere. There's no warning. All of a sudden it's a new trend that starts to spread. I found one today called pebbling.

It is used to describe a romantic relationship that is more traditional like mother and child or brother and sister.

The term originated from the actions of the Gentoo penguins in Antarctica. To court a potential mate, male Gentoo penguins present the females with small pebbles, which are then used to build the nest.

Pebbling, in its current trending form, refers to little signs of love or affection gifted to a friend or a loved one that you think they would enjoy. In today's world, they often come in the form of memes, GIF's, videos, or tweets that you might send to someone to help brighten the day.

Pebbling is an alternative form of communication practiced by people who struggle with traditional shows of affection. When I was in high school, I had a difficult time with clear communication, I asked a girl to be my girlfriend by sending her the lyrics to the Beatle's song "Do You Want to Know A Secret." So in today's world this would be a form of pebbling.

Pebbling looks different in each person's relationship, but can be as simple as sending a good morning text.

I always talk about connection and the first part of connection is finding common ground. Once that is established and a relationship is grown, then it becomes littles acts of caring. Enter pebbling.

It;s called pebbling for now but it continues to reflect something I believe. It is so important to tell people how you feel. I remind my beloved every day that I love her. This is the energy I want in our relationship, I am the luckiest guy on the planet and I remind myself, her, and the universe of that fact over and over again.

Anytime I hear someone say to me he has to get home to his old lady or moan about his marriage I shudder at the energy being put into the universe.

God' hand is in everything, every day. The fact that God has, in His or Her infinite wisdom, put the two of us together is a continual blessing.

So I will pebble away! I don't do secrets well so at times I tell my wife I bought her a gift to be delivered she just looks at me and says - "another one?" I always reply "for the rest of our lives."

Have you done your pebbling today?
