I don't have a lot of patience at this time in my life. I don't have as much time ahead of me as I did earlier in life so I do not want to waste any time.
One group of people that slow me down are negative people. Albert Einstein once said, "Stay away from negative people; they have a problem for every solution.
I know we all have some negativity in our life. We point out and get caught up focusing on the negatives instead of the positives. I've been told this is actually being a realist. But it is so easy slipping from being a bit negative to being a full-blown pessimist. They are the people that when taking actions get caught up in self-censorship. It is failing to ask questions of other people before trying to ask. It's not calling because 'they are probably eating.' It is assuming 'he won't go out with me.'
Our job being authentic is to be who we are and let others make their own choices. We don't want to make choices for them/ It means at one level we are not assuming a full out and powerful 'yes.'
When we say a "full yes" we state it as if it has already happened. Setting a positive step from our situation means the universe sees our 'yes' and rushes to get it done. This is not a place to do the Hokey Pokey dance. You can't just put one foot in and leave the other parts not involved. The universe will not be activated with anything less than a 100%. Rev Michael Moran said we need to come out of the bleachers of life and get onto the playing field.
I've found in life I love people who live outside the drama and stories. They don't spend a great deal of time talking about what they will do. They see life as action driven and their home motto is from Nike - 'Just do it!'
Prior to working in construction, I let obstacles stop me dead in my tracks. I let life dictate because I was not fully committed. My partner Phil taught me that there is always a solution and our job is to find it. If we came to a block we just back up and come from a different direction.
The other day I ordered some food for the staff at the dialysis center in gratitude for what they do. The restaurant told me they did not deliver. I stepped back and said to them, "I really need to have this delivered across the parking lot at 1 PM and you don't deliver. What can we do to make tha happen?
In the end I provided a special tip and one of the restaurant staff delivered the order. Problem resolved using the team approach.
This means everyone is on our team in resolving issues. When all are involved there are no issues Working things out is a wonderful weaving of team.
This means giving up on 'us vs them' syndrome. This means giving up the thought that people are out yo get me. It means all the world is there to help me achieve my goals. Issues and challenges are only things to hone my strength and spiritual growth. I look forward to building my team as I add members as needed.
Want to be on my team? Wait a minute, you already are on my team...........
