Inspirations

It's the middle of the night and as usual I am wide awake. My health challenges give me periods of time in the midst of the dark night when I am suddenly alert and awake and ready to do things.

Some of it is centered around my pain levels and some of it is about the world and the things around how we all fit and what God has put together.

I have a file each year called 'inspirations' which holds items which have reached out and touched me. So a few years back I found a piece called "spiritual truths." Let's take a look at some of them.

First magic really happens and miracles still occur. It is our perception that sets up mind blocks making us think there is no magic. Talk to a four year old child and tell me there is no magic. Each day is filled with miracles. I saw one today as the hummingbirds fed at our backyard feeder.

The universe is listening and reflects back to us what we give out. It is a perfect reflection of how we see the world. This means in the end we create what we feel. The tough part for me is that in the challenge around my health and sometimes in the midst of my pain I fall into one of my 'rabbit holes" and have meltdowns. I think in a way it is a chance to step back and pause. It is a time to gather the Divine energy and move forward with that energy.

I've talked before that in this world my default position in how I feel is that of an optimist. I know that at this very moment things are so good and we are ready for the next step. I sometimes forget that any internal workings that are anything but positive are not connected totally with spirit but forget our foundation of being authentic.

One of the things I've done in my two month journey through the hospital/rehab system is whenever I got to a new location (Kaiser Morse Avenue, Kaiser Roseville; Eskaton Rehab; and Grammercy Court rehab,) I requested a visit from a facility chaplain.

One of my favorite chaplains was Chaplain Freddie. Freddie showed up one day out of nowhere and talked and we prayed. There is nothing more fun than to have two pastors who have been in the ministry for a long time sit2ting and sharing memories. Freddie would continue to set up with no appointments but he knw

In the Morse Avenue facility, I lost Freddie until he came in behind from diffetg targets

Holding sacred space is filled with prayer, prayers, mediations, cjurch boards.
