Today I read about a new term. We always hear about having something be a 'trigger' for us to cause anxiety or panic as our minds move to a traumatic moment deep in the past.
The new term is a glimmer. A glimmer is a tiny micro-moment of happiness; a sign of hope. It is said once you know about glimmers you start to consciously look for them everywhere.
I think this is only natural that God has given us a term that is our entrance to unbridled joy. In fact, I think every human being has that sign of hope about the world.
My brother can sometimes be cynical about his approach to life. One of his statements he made to me long ago was "Life is a bitch; then you die." This is the part of us that is always waiting for the other shoe to drop. In order to have this protocol, we must believe that we don't always deserve the good things of life. Thus when we have good things occur, we are building an unbalanced part of life that must be balanced out sometime in the future.
We forget that God or spirit or Allah does not put meaning on the events of life. We as human beings are the ones who proscribe the 'good' or 'bad' of events. Normally all that happens file under the famous 'it is what it is!"
One of the big blessings in working with one of my partners in construction is his approach to life. He believed we needed to keep moving. He believed there were always answers for us around any issue. It's just at times we had to back-up and approach from a different way.
It seems like this is a natural part of our lives. We work with situations and there are always a number of them that don't seem like they can be resolved. Then all at once the dam bursts and all sorts of answers start to show up.
Sometimes when we are in the midst of a deep and complex issue we need only to step away from it and do something else. We do a re-set. We let our mind work in the background while we do other things. I am amazed how often this happens. So in the end it becomes so much simpler. Stop trying so hard to figure it out. Step back and do something else. When you come back, there will be a glimmer of hope!
