I love date days! Our dialysis scheduling means Friday is a day 'off.' Sp we have designated it as our date day. Each week we do different things which have one thing in common - we spend time together.
Today for the first time in a week it appeared that the temperature would peak below 100 degrees. So we ran to our local sandwich shop and got all the fixings for a picnic and off we went. We ended up in a nearby park at a picnic bench with a tablecloth and cutlery and I even had Fritos with my sandwich. We listened as mothers shared play days with other little ones. I want to know how it is that little hirls of four or five already run the world. We saw one little girl tell her friends, "I'm going to hide right here - you go over there and then you come and find me - go!" It is beyond confidence. It is a surety that the world will follow her bidding. I think spirit did a good job of setting up the flow. I've watched many times when a woman will give a group of strangers a command to move - and the strangers do it! I was told this is a command voice one learns having been a mother. There is no alternative choice. I will follow one of the things you ask me yo do. It seems like the natural flow of the universe. It happens and no one questions the situation.
Our date days may incorporate a trip to Total Beauty Supply which is the best place ever to get greeting cards of all kinds. I love to send cards to people just to stay connected. Or we may go to Office Depot and stock up. I have a quirk! I must have plenty of pens. I have two drawers full of pens and yet still will buy another box when they are on sale.
We also love to go to the Container Store. This store made me realize how many types of containers are out on the market for everything. It's great.
We also love to get out and drive. I have a habit of never taking the main streets when there are back roads which create new adventures. One of my favorite sections of road is Winding Creek Road at Watt Avenue driving east to Winding Creek Road at Eastern. It is a neighborhood of large sprawling houses and huge lawns. Driving the road is much like being in the country. It is a road of meditation. Try it; you will like it.
Another section of road is Winding Way from Hazel to Fair Oaks Village. It is a meandering road of hills, mansions, and horse properties. Again a calming and quiet drive.
Finally I just love to take routes I have not done before. This is how I discovered some amazinf properties and houses. We live in communities that are diverse from Curtis Park to Arden-Arcade to William Land Park to Mid-Town. All are so worth exploeing.
We love in the fall to grab cameras and take photos during 'prime' time. Prime time for a photographer in the fall is a period of time around 10 AM and then again at 4 PM when the light is soft and muted. Even normal photos turn out better during this time.
I can't wait to see what we do during date night this week..........
