I noticed the more I got out into the world that I would run into people that were 'different.' I was blessed that a part of me wanted to spend time with these people.
I don't have a really good term for them; let's just call them 'clear thinkers.' These are people who are all on the same page with a crystal clear focus and a strong set of goals.
Our internal mental world is made up of so many different parts. Each part has been birthed by events in our lives. Some of the parts are so familiar to each of us and some are very subtle.
We all have an inner 'judge' who can be rather quiet or weigh in on every single thing we do or say (boy is that tiring!). We all have inner critics and inner saboteurs. All of these form our inner world.
It is a concept that I worked with in the land of hypnotherapy. I would often work with a client around being paralyzed in life. We would work in her 'inner conference room' identifying the different inner parts.
We would work on bringing them to the table to speak their piece on what their goal was. There lies the difficulty. It is hard to achieve goals when there are inner members of the conference room who have different goals.
I could get into all the details and the wheels within wheels as part of the process. But the truth is that all of us have inner wars that can occur with ourselves.
It is two separate parts. For me, it is one part thinking my writing is pretty good and another part thinking my writing is really a waste of time and very poor. These inner fights slow down our Divine progress in life.
For a long period of my life, I had an inner saboteur. Over and over again I would achieve goals in a spectacular fashion and get promotions and be given added responsibilities. Then my inner saboteur would jump in and do something so out of character that there was no choice but to pull me out of the quagmire. More than once people would say to me, "I can't believe you did that. It's so out of character!"
So in the end as I took spiritual practice steps I realized something. I realized that all of who I am needed to be on the same page with the same goal.. It needed to be love based and for the good of me - whatever that was.
These are the clear people I mention. Somewhere along the way they did not get involved in the inner wars. They are clear of vision and know their goals and destinations. They see things with a huge amount of clarity and there is a sense of self that is filled with strength. You know one; we all do. It's that person and you realize right away they mean what they say, they say what they mean, and they don't participate in drama.
They don't triangulate so that if something comes up they resolve it immediately. I like them and have set as a personal goal to be more like them.
They are the Buster Posey's of baseball; the John Prine's of music, and the Maria Shriver's of writing. If you are one, God bless you for how you show up. If not, find one to emulate and learn from it. It will change everything!
