So every time I think we have big challenges new ones show up beyond logical measure. We have finally recovered from being hacked on computer, in phone, and on bank accounts. We have taken the needed steps for on-line security. This seems to be a common occurrence for older people. It becomes harder and harder to determine and what is fabricated. We are cynical and skeptical about emails and who sends us things.
I have been off-line some six weeks and I am just re-activating things. My mind is filled with so much; the result is that my blogs are starting up again. Please join me as we look at life!
So in this type of world I want to know how and who do we trust? It seems like often our providers (cable TV, cellular phone, computer tech support) are not always who they appear to be. So trusting on-line is very difficult! It is so much easier to trust only our personal support team. This includes our mechanic (35 years working with the family/owners), our insurance agent (twenty years working with him), and others with lots of history.
But it sucks that all others must be looked at with suspicion. We now live in an age that nobody just knocks on the front door. We've installed extra security to see who is on our porch.
So how do you work with the world? What steps do you take to ensure your privacy and security? Each week since the start of the pandemic on Sunday night we have a family Zoom meeting. We get caught up with all the family news. Much of my family is from rural Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. People know their neighbors and trust is common. People with bad reputations eventually disappear from the area because everyone knows who they are.
I really do believe this is a friendly universe and the universe is here to provide and take care of me. But my belief is sometimes assailed by circumstances. So I pray a lot and ask for God's support. My wife and I turn to each other and our amazing bond when the challenges show up.
If you have other ways that help you trust and be safe, please share. We don't do this alone and can use all the help we can get. Meanwhile I remember Eddie Murphy Jr. from Beverly Hills Cop when he told the Beverly Hills cops, "trust me!"
God bless!
