:Last Sunday I gave a sermon at Unity Lower Lake on Zoom. At one point, I was averaging between 25-30 sermons a year. Finally my health challenges moved me into taking some steps of self-care. So I retired from the circuit in a number of churches where I spoke.
These included Spiritual Life Center (my home church where I was Assistant Minister for over eight years), Unity of Davis, Unity of Stockton, Unity of Roseville, Mountainside Center for Spiritual Living (Placerville), Foothill Living for Spiritual Living (Auburn), Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center (Vacaville), Unity Spiritual Center of Napa Valley, Unity of Ukiah, and Unity of the Redwoods (Eureka) along with the previously mentioned Unity of Lower Lake. I thoroughly crafting messages because after all I believe God is constantly giving us sermons in our daily lives. We just need to listen.
I also love that in Lower Lake they have a time of social gathering during which the family-type congregation shars stories and heart. It reminded me again that we must keep checking in with past friends. Lots of things get in the way and we look up and it is ten years since we talked. This week I have re-committed to reconnecting and letting people know what a difference they have made in my life.
Recently I sent a note to one of my partners in the construction company I co-owned. He was the perfect reflection of my dad's energy - and I had huge issues with my dad. For twenty-two years I worked closely with this man and he made a huge difference in the success of our company, Many a day we interacted and I walked out of his office in deep anger. But we had a job to do.
He sent back a beautiful note filled with praise. It was so healing. Check out some of the distances between you and other people. Realize that in the end these people play a part im your spiritual growth. I challenge you to take the role of an icebreaker in the Antarctic. Take the first step to break the ice and close the distance. You will be amazed at the miracles tha will occur.
My sermon was called "The Challenge of God." It speaks to the truth that a main focal point at this point in my life. We are not alone. Everyone comes into our lives determined by the flow of the river of life. Even if someone is there for only a very short precious time, it is still critical on our journey.
I've said it before. They all are a part of our angel team; we need to recognize them. Thank them for their impact. I give thanks to each and every one of them and end withe a resounding thanj you God............
