Breathing Is Important

For the last week I have had breathing problems. Every time I believe I had come to some grips with my body changes, something new and different occurs. Suddenly it came to the point when I was unable to take deep breaths, and so I have points in time when it is difficult to have enough air.

It seemed like I was in the midst of a cold and the feedback we got from our friends was that many of those around us had coughs. But we wanted to make sure it wasn't more than that, so we connected with a couple members of my medical team and I went in for testing for COVID, RSV and the flu. When I got back the results from the tests, everything came back negative. It does appear to be a congestive cold. My complication is the fact that I have no immune system, so the symptoms are stronger for me. I just don't like new stuff going on in my body.

I have had a secondary disturbing event. Even though I do not have upsets around my stomach, suddenly food is a neutral for me. I can take it or leave it, and now take it in smaller quantities than I did before. It makes it so easy to have meals.

But again I have expanded my self-care, and I am making sure I get enough sleep and wait for those moments when better health kicks in.

Today some friends came over to talk to me. I found my sentences were filled with breathing breaks to make sure I had enough breath to finish communication. It's all very strange.
