Do you know how incredibly brave you are? There came a time in that spirit world when it was time to volunteer to come and participate in the planet Earth human experiment. You not only got in the line but enthusiastically joined in with the thought you were coming for a life filled with so much.
Stop and think when you arrived. You had been safe and warm with all the food you needed and suddenly you came into a cold world and the first thing that happened is you got slapped! This did not bode well for your future days.
All your life you have been told here and there that you arrived whole and complete with all the answers. You're the spiritual being dipping your toes into the physical journey. But God kept on throwing you curve balls.
You were the bright shining star whose points rang so bright in the world. Unfortunately some of your points poked and prodded those around you - whether they were family or friends you were poking some people. They in their infinite wisdom would reach over and bend one of the points so it would not poke anymore. This continued on a daily basis throughout your life and after a prolonged period of time suddenly all your points were bent. In the haze of the earlier days you actually forgot the star you are and there you were believing you were and are a box. A box surrounded by a group of boxes doing box things.
But one of the beauties of the spiritual journey is that the other side of forgetting is remembering. The points that had been bent started to quiver with life experiencces. You were like the tomato so ready to ripen in the intense heat. Every life experience caused the points to quiver even more. It could not be helped - the change was coming.
Transformation erupted! You found yourself bursting into tears for no reason.. You said things that were filled with faith so daring you wondered who it was. Suddenly your heart was so big that one of the points spronged open. Then another one followed and soon you were on your way to stardom.
Then day by day you realized that you were doing things you had never done before. Dreaming dreams that were bigger than any you had dreamed before.
This is the bravery you participate in each day. You show up in an amazing way. What a journey! But it always seems that God wants to maintain balance so on the other side of your coin is ego reminding us that we are no different than anyone else. This is the part of us that likes to use the word 'just'. Oh, I'm 'just' doing this or 'just' participating in that.
So get over it and give up. Realize in the end you are the bravest of the brave. Realize that even though you don't see it there right in the middle of your chest is a small 'hero' button that belongs to you. Get used to that!
