This is the perfect time of year! Our weather forecast for the next week will be sunny days with temperatures from the high 70's to the low 80's. The autumn hint of a start to fall is in the chill in the air. We've got all our Halloween decorations up.
Rachel's daughter is having the annual pumpkin carving/decorating gathering this Saturday. She has all the carving tools to carve and a binder with over 100 templates for pumpkin decorating. Everyone produces beautiful carved pumpkins and a winner is chosen.
Rachel and I do a meditation every day that is about thirty minutes long. It is one of my favorite ministers doing the meditation. We've worn out two of her CD's already. Recently I got another CD from her.
But at this time of year we follow the meditation with some time 'sitting on the patio.' Just sitting in our beautiful backyard. We still have fresh tomatoes ripening daily. We also have a huge crop of limes ready to be harvested. There is a key lime pie in the near future. It is heavenly to watch the hummingbirds feed. Squirrels hide their nuts and there is always activity to watch. It is a precious part of the day for the two of us.
Let me quote from my first blog back on August 22nd of last year. It is about balance. I talked about prior to the modern days - we ate when we were hungry and slept when we were tired. But that changed! Now we try to do everything all the time. Balance was sahot and difficult to maintain.
Suddenly we had no space for us! We had no time for us. We had deadlines that were unreasonable. We were and are out of control.
The circle of balance brings us back to self-care. We must be there for us if we want to be there for anyone else. What if we slept when we were tired? What if we ate when we were hungry? What if we took care of ourselves?
It is moving into the circle of balance. Be balanced and all will be well! Be balanced my friend............
